I think Gouda Wasserlauf was a beautiful woman. All I know is that she was murdered as a Jewish woman in her home. This photo has never been taken, such a face never existed, it was made of her granddaughter and great-great granddaughter, and therefore of me. I created my great-great-grandmother. I filled the gap in the album.

PL Myślę, że Gouda Wasserlauf była piękną kobietą. Wiem tylko tyle, że jako żydówka została zamordowana w swoim domu. To zdjęcie nigdy nie zostało zrobione, taka twarz nigdy nie istniała, powstała z jej wnuczki i praprawnuczki, a więc ze mnie. Wykreowałam moją praprababcię. Zapełniłam lukę w albumie.

The project is based on a family history, on facts. Through a tiny portrait depicted on the exhibition wall, I attract the viewer to come closer to look at the object. Then, on closer contact, he discovers that this person is a creation, but so firmly embedded in reality.

Photographic manipulation created to refer to the 30s. The way the photo is printed and perforated also refers to those times. Inserted in 3d frame creates distance, some kind of barrier.
