Domestic Violence
The purpose of this project is to design for good by illustrating a one 11” x 17” poster with the intent to achieve a positive social impact.
I am bringing awareness to domestic violence within our society. This is not just with women and childred, but also with men. We are not targets and must not continue to harm each other. Women are much more likely to be victims of intimate partner violence with 85 percent of domestic abuse victims being women and 15 percent men. Too many women have been held captive by domestic violence. This could be through physical abuse, financial abuse, emotional abuse or a combination of all three, according to sources. Domestic violence accounts for 15% of all violent crimes.

This is how my poster initially began. As I progressed further, I added words and more images that would portray the idea of domestic violence. The man is getting beat as a way to show domestic violence within our jail systems. The only thought that can cross his mind is the fact that he beats his kid and wife at home so karma is only repaying him. Domestic violence needs to stop!
