To Forgive
This is another piece of personal painting I've done back in 2015. It started out as another attempt on style exploration, this time I'm studying to understand Sachin Teng's style because I'm a huge fan of his works and why not?

Thankfully, he had written an article on how he creates on Digital Arts Online a while ago. It is insightful to see how he planned his painting from the first step to the last.
What makes Sachin Teng's work so intriguing is not only the way he paint and design it, but also his subject matter. Hence, I've decided to follow his steps and see where it leads me.

Somehow, I ended up revisited a past betrayal and opened up an old wound of mine. As the drawing progress from exploration to main sketch, the sadness gradually stopped bothering me and I began to see a different light on that matter.
A slight shift from the initial concept flipped the narrative entirely.
Rather than dwelling in the past, I've thought of turning the pain into something healing.

Instead of focusing only on the pain, I've chose to express acknowledge both the sorrow and its relief when you can finally forgive the person or even yourself.
Thanks for reading!

If you have any stories, would like to hear how your personal work had help you grown emotionally too.
