This brief was to design and name a craft pale ale beer thats for and based on, in and around birmingham. We have quite free rain with the designs in the sense of the shape fo the bottle, label, name, flavours can be what ever we feel, the only restriction is that they want a minimal colour pallet of only two colours.
They wanted a beer that just stands out from the rest because theres quite a look that goes along with these craft beers, i want to be in keeping with that but at the same time mix it up a bit just to keep it interesting.
The logo is based on the ideas of The Cut, this can be taken as the slang word for the canal and then also the gangs razor blades and them cutting and slicing. Jasper is a slang word for a wasp and the sting of a wasp also links to the sting you get from a nettle. Also within the logo are black country factories and a well know bride house over one of the canal ports. With the logo i worked on the idea of it cutting and being cut.
