Meat What Ya Eat is a satirical cookbook designed for cooks with a sense of humor. Many people have the misconception that farmers are cruel and evil. I grew up on a dairy farm with a love for animals. I would name the cows, and treat them as if they were the family dog. When I grew older I was slapped with reality, learning I had been eating my animal friends for years.

Although my childhood self was upset, I learned that these animals helped to support my family, and that farmers work hard to treat their animals with respect and care so that we could provide for ourselves and the people in our community. The pastel colors and free-form type reference 70’s children’s book design. The illustrations are modern and cute, structured from basic shapes to make each animal look chunky and lovable. The reader may laugh or cry at the fate the lies ahead for each animal, but in the end can cope by eating good food.
