Kids at Heart 2018
Charity event benefiting Sacred Heart Children's Hospital
Kids at Heart is a super fun event that helps fund technology that is vital to treat injured kids in Spokane, due to a variety of reasons. This year, the event is highlighting the Freeman shooting, providing eyewitness testimony from the victims and how Sacred Heart helped them and their family in times of need.
As far as the design goes, we wanted to focus on creating bright colored, simple and friendly illustrations that instill a sense of creativity and youthfulness, transporting adults to a time when life was much more simple.
Credit for art/creative direction goes to Chapter and Verse for all the projects listed below. This project was part of my internship with C&V.
Program
A quick message on the front of the program warmly welcomes guests to sit down and enjoy the event, as well as displaying the program itself on the back. A KIND bar is nestled between the front and the back, a little surprise. Sponsors and credits are listed on the inside, which can be easily unfolded from the bottom.
Lunch Bag
Provided to guests at the event, these lunch bags hold food, as well as one of the four colorful poster designs.
Smile Mug
Put a smile on your face with this cool mug! We wanted to keep the design for the mug minimal, maintaining a positive and humorous tone.
Save the Date Mailer
Sent out a couple weeks before the event as a reminder to guests.
Facebook Event Page Cover Photo
A little social media reminder, based on one of the poster designs, to reinforce the visual branding of the event.
Pledge Card
The Pledge Card prompts guests at the event to pledge to a good cause!
Creative Deck/Brief
Provided to the clients from Sacred Heart to show a preview of possible collateral for the event. From this point on in the process, some parts were changed slightly, which is why we didn't end up using the fidget spinner idea.
Ideation Process
Pictured below are sketched ideas for all of the collateral, including the posters, programs, game and prizes (at the event), mugs, thank you ads, pledge cards, and taglines.
DAY OF THE EVENT
Kids at Heart 2018 was an absolute blast! There were over 800 people in attendance, making this year the biggest Kids at Heart so far! It's was really inspiring to hear everyone's stories, and too see so many people donating to help injured kids through SHCS!
