'Minute'
The goal of this university project was to design a chair that could be produced on a smaller scale later on. Our starting point was a pre-formed, semi-finished moulded plywood seat shell made and given to us by Ply Design Ltd. So the task was to design a chair frame that could support the shell and also to determine the final contour of the seat.

I examined a Budapest based company and learned about the habits of their employees and the dynamics of the workspace. I found that there was a demand for a multi-purpose chair that could be used as a dining chair in the breakroom but could also function as a conference chair during meetings and presentations. It also had to be fairly light, easy to clean, easy to carry and armrests are added for extra comfort.

Based on the requirements I choose to use steel tubes for shaping the frame. After experimenting with tube bending my choice fell on stainless tubing with 16mm diameter and 1,5mm wall thickness.
