The Happy Postman

This project had a self created brief, my idea was to design care packages that would be sent to student or any young adult who were moving away from home for the first time. I wanted to disconnect from the idea that post is usually boring and almost depressing; we mostly only receive bills and takeaway leaflets and that is why the brand is named, 'The Happy Postman'.

I wanted to make something that encouraged an audience to use the post in a more personal way and brought a sense of home comforts for an audience struggling while being away from home.

Below is a range of pattern I created that worked to wrap presents being sent to a receiver and carry on the branding within the care packages.
Summer Ice Lollies Pattern
Fried Eggs Pattern
Travel Pattern
Bath Time Pattern
Bright thinking Pattern
Each pattern has it’s own theme and style but are all tied together through the colours and imagery, this was done to enforce the brand. Allowing them to also work together when arranged inside the care packages but also still have their own themes when displayed alone. With fun bight colours and wacky images I hoped that the packaging would promote a home from home feeling that would comfort anyone away from their loved ones.
