RSA Awards 2018 Brief
Design an inclusive, accessible and multigenerational kitchen space or kitchen component that works for all ages, as well as for disabled and non-disabled family members, so they can prepare, cook and serve food, entertain, engage in hobbies or work and enjoy life together.

Concept
Based on our research, we found that most young children aren’t allowed to participate in the cooking process due to fear that they might injure themselves with the dangerous equipment in the kitchen.

Our concept is a set of three utensils which are designed based on wild animals. The tools encourage children to associate its dangerous components to sharp ‘teeth’ and ‘claws’, in an effort to educate and raise awareness towards the risks of sharp kitchen tools. Each utensil comes in a story book which parents can read aloud to their children, taking story time out of the bedroom and into the kitchen.

In collaboration with Wang Chen Hui, Charlene Tan, Ye Rong Xin, Ooi Yi Wen, and Henny Dwi.
