inkrypt: hand-painted shoes

Inkrypt's story starts with my love for creating handmade, personalized gifts and as one of my best-friends birthdays approached, I decided to make her something special. A customized, hand-painted pair of shoes (or inkies, as the name developed later on).

One thing led to another and I was making inkies by order for both her friends and mine and the next thing we knew, Inkrypt had developed into my own small little business that made people's feet happy.

One of the things that made inkrypt truly unique was the fact that it can be personalized to anyone and everyone. Below is a series of Egyptian/ ethnic themes inkies, some of which were created in collaboration with the fashion designer Amina K.

And the best thing is: no two pairs were ever the same. Even if they were around the same theme. So, imagine how special it feels to know that you are the only person on this planet wearing these exact shoes, pretty cool huh?

It was even possible to send in pictures of your pet (or for some reason, my customers always chose dogs!) and have them with you every step you take.

Love to travel? (Don't we all?). Keep track of all the places you've been and highlight monuments or occasions that are special to you by these travel inkies.

But, one of the thing that made me happiest, was this new trend inkrypt managed to start: Wedding inkies! Forget the heels, it's time to wear comfortable, customized bridal inkies at your wedding and dance the night away. They make great photos too, especially if you've made matching inkies for your bridesmaids!

Inkrypt was lucky to collaborate with many young designers, one of which was Yellow Design Studios and together we introduced a new line of inky-bags that could be transformed from a backpack to a shoulder bag and of course handpainted with exclusive designs.
