This week is an expansion of next week. I am following Skocko's Beautiful Blurs Part II. Used 3DLUT to make different variations of the same blur.
Let's bring back this image and see what happens.
Just the blend mode was changed to color dodge and this came up. some of the water from the original image can be seen in the corner.
Using the 3DULT to change the colors.
I took both blurs and put one on top of the other and blended them together.
Blended with hard light.
Blend with Linear Blur. It's a bit too dark.
Woah... This was a result of blending with Pin Light.
Well blending with Hard Mix certainly does NOT work. Yikes.
Oof. Darker color didn't work either.
Blending with Difference looks kind of cool.
Ohh I like this one especially the royal blue color in the middle. I blended with Subtract then changed the top layer's opacity to 75%. I'm going to change the opacity more to see if it will get any lighter.
That's Subtraction with the opacity at 50% and the colors look more mixed but that royal blue color I liked is gone. All well, I'm going to keep experimenting.
Divide at 80% opacity looks nice too.
Now let's try using the 3DULT with the two blurs blended together.
I like this one. I think I'm going to play around.
I added a difference cloud filter to the bottom layer and this was the result. I think this would look cooler with a different color blur so let's do that.
This reminds me of something found under a microscope. Weird. Let's keep going.
Just the bottom layer

Added the pointillize filter to top layer and played with the blend modes.
I'm playing with the filters. This is the tiles filter.
Added the wave filter and put in some random settings and somehow this happened.
Played with the blending modes and even weirder things happened like these...
Put the extrude filter on and added 3DULT.
I want to test what photos look good as blurs and what doesn't because I've only made blurs out of water refections, so I'm going to try other photos.
Well that one kind of works. I'm going to add to it.
Let's try this picture
The second one looks a bit better with the gradient look.
I'm going to try something weird.
Wow those are really bright. Let's tune it down a bit.
I'm going to try something really dull in comparison to the really bright one.
Why did I think that would work. oof.
That one could kind of work.
How about some dead leaves to contrast the live ones.
Well now I feel like I got a really good grasp on blurs and how to make them just right for me. Let's see where this blur world takes me.
