WARA - Sound Amplifier

The exhibition EDGE Vol. 10 "Dento no Mushi", opens the door for artisans and designers to collaborate into traditional Japanese crafts, and explore together new ways to approach materials, techniques and concepts, in order to create an experimental product.
Traditional crafts workshops in Latin America face a hard time to gain resources to invest into new tools for their workplaces. Therefore, it was very important to use equipment that were available only in the workshop, to showcase the possibilities of new design with minimal investment.

WARA, is a sound amplifier, that was born from the idea of the traditional technique of Kawara, making of this a sensorial experience, by making a contemporary object that presents a different ceramics property: sound conductivity.
