Well. This movie, like the first one, just sinks in after repeated viewings. It's inarguably one of the best sequels of all time and it fits the same pantheon of movies like The Empire Strikes Back and Godfather II. It's that good. The atmosphere, photography, soundtrack and sound editing wouldn't be memorable if not helped by the terrific script and perfect casting. Denis Villeneuve is the greatest director of this generation of movie makers, and his work will be analyzed for years to come. That's why I decided to pay homage to this movie doing an illustration for my favourite character, K.

I started by doing a visual research on one of my favourite scenes [Spoiler Ahead] - when, totally beat up and disappointed, this fragile man prepares to consummate his revenge over Wallace Corporation and, at the same time, save the day. It's not the fate of the world which hangs in balance here, but the very notion of humanity and identity for him. K, as an ordinary creature, never felt special and spent his entire short existence alone. He went through so much and was lied about his own nature and destiny. He also lost everything that he loved and which made the slightest sense in his life.

Warming up pencils to start the real illustration.

Drawings, piece by piece, being organized for the final composition.

All the elements together.

That could give a nice poster, huh?

The final result.
