OCTO citrus reamer for OTOTO
When life gives you lemons, Octo will help you turn them into lemonade!

The winning design for Korea Design Challenge 2017, this citrus reamer is a playful twist on an old kitchen favorite. With the theme of the challenge being Fun Follows Function, this was an invitation for designers to let their shoulders down and produce some playful, yet functional objects.

Octo is now in production and available through OTOTO's website.
Our 3D printed prototype
A trusty addition to your kitchen arsenal and a playful piece for your home, Octo squeezes every last drop from your citrus fruits to flavor your drinks and dishes. With the twisting tentacles forming the reaming ridges and the head at an ergonomic angle, working the pulp with Octo is a dream.
Looking at existing citrus reamers, the octopus concept almost made itself. We then worked out a way to abstract the shape enough to be immediately recognizable but simplified enough to be moldable in one piece. With a 3D printed model, we could iterate the design until we were happy with both the functionality and the looks.
Testing our 3D printed prototype.
Our final 3D printed model, painted for presentation!
We had a lot of fun making Octo, and hope OTOTO's customers around the world will have fun using him.
Thanks!
