PORTLAND SCHOOL OF BREWING

Completed for Studio Five, The Portland School of Brewing is the architectural component of an Urban Design Studio that also involved master planning and landscape design. The architecture is part of a landscape that was planned and design as an interdisciplinary team and is programmed to mesh with the overall intentions of the site master plan. The site was a remediated industrial area in Portland, Oregon.
The building supports a brewery, restaurant, and small agricultural greenhouse, as well as educational space. The intention is that the students of the school will learn by running the programs of the building. Programs are connected by accessible ramp systems and interesting parts of semi-private programs are visible to the public realm from the inside and outside.
