Enjoying the scenic route to Venice by ferry.
The famous canals of Venice. Where are the gondolas?
If you look closely, there are many little artistic touches to every building that you walk by.
Many gondola tours are available. A ride takes about 30-60 minutes and you arrive back to where you started. This was a worthwhile attraction and probably the most relaxing and enjoyable. Sit back and take in the sights and sounds of Venice without any stress as the waves relaxes you. Don't forget to tip as you get out of the gondola.
The famous Rialto Bridge from a distance.
Returning to where we started, the Piazza San Marco. The ground was wet from the sea leaving with the tide. We also visited the Saint Mark's Basilica (background), but I wasn't allowed to take any photos inside. They make you check your baggage in the beige/yellow building to the left of the church.
The Italians really hate it when you feed the pigeons. Their population is unchecked and they are viewed as a pest problem (left). On the right, are the famous red columns of the Doge's Palace. The Doge was said to stand there to announce death penalties or announce ceremonies.
Go up to the tower to get a 360 panoramic view of the Venice as the sun sets.
Dinner that night was pizza.
