Small Green Door's profile

GONZALEZ GOODALE ARCHITECTS | Logo Design

Overview

Gonzalez Goodale Architects (GGA) work collaboratively to advance the practice of architecture and create environments that enhance public life.

When Gonzalez Goodale Architects came to Small Green Door, they hadn’t updated their branding in over 10 years. It was time to reframe how people thought about their work. The first step we took in this rebranding process was to understand their design ethos. We visited the office to meet the team, talk through the design philosophy in architecture, and get a feel for the business. The team works out of a stunning, window-lit studio in Pasadena.  We experienced creativity, social consciousness, and community drive in the office, but found that these elements were absent from their digital presence.
Implementation

After these conversations, Leo began experimenting with lines, shapes, and fonts. Over the course of the following weeks, Leo filled a notebook with logo variations, fonts, textures, and concepts. We created digital iterations of the designs that resonated with the GGA team. Once we settled on a brand and mark, Small Green Door created a style guide for architectural documents, letterhead, and business cards that integrated with the new branding and website.
