This is a live brief project I have undertaken as the start of my 3rd Year studies on BA(Hons) Modelmaking at the Arts University College Bournemouth. I just want to state that the character designs belong to Morgan Powell ( Creative Director of SEED Animation) and the Production they are for is property of SEED Animation Studio. I have been given the task of bringing one of thier digital creations to life in the form of a stop motion puppet and really look forward to the challenges this project will bring!

Armature drawn up and components machined and offered up to compare size.
The start of the main body sculpt, with seperate gas mask component in place to ensure it will line up on the final puppet.
Main body sculpt clay walled up and ready for fibreglass mold to be made.
The mold making process finishing with the completed two part mold left to cure before it was trimmed down and bolts placed to clamp the two halves together.
3D printed molds for the hands and feet, bringing the traditional skill of stop motion up to date with mdoern processes!
First casts of the hands and feet using a translucent silicone with red pigment.

The tap that fits on to the bottom of the gas bottle turned out of aluminium and the start of painting.
The gas mask had its components turned out of aluminium and then joined together before painting.
The next stage of paint... ooo shiny...
Metal components of skinny aged and ready to be attached to the main body. All with grub screws to alway removal of arms, legs and visor.
