Compendium
A compendium is a collection of concise but detailed information about a particular subject. In this case my compendium is based on texts that have interested me in the past that talk about the way in which we as humans behave whether it be from day to day happenings or as a designer. An essay I have also written ‘Semiotics and Stereotypes’ that talks about today’s society is also featured.
For a personal touch to the book; the publication starts with a preface written by myself that introduces the range of varied texts and gives an insight into the compendium of behaviour. The design shows three grid systems to reflect personal, modern and traditional pieces of text. Each grid system follows a separate typeface to best show the style of writing. In-between each article are design pieces that inspire me and ones I am influenced by as well as ones relating to the article. Some articles are a combination of text and image.
