Rive Gauche (ICSC Award Winner)
Rive Gauche is an exciting urban regeneration project for the city centre of Charleroi, Belgium with a new town square, shopping centre, hotel and offices. Rive Gauche took home the best medium sized shopping centre and regeneration awards at a prestigious ICSC event. The project was also nominated for best new shopping centre at both Mapic and MIPIM.
Brief
Our challenge has been to create a brand identity, marketing campaign and interiors for Rive Gauche, a mixed use development in the centre of Charleroi. Our scope also encompasses architectural studies on the facades, glass roof design and general circulation of the scheme. The SEC faces a new town square and as such is central to the reconfigured retail aspect of the city.
Solution
An artistic feel has been developed for the brand, with bright colours complemented by sophisticated typography and hand-drawn illustrations. Inspired by the Parisian (left bank) our interiors combine elements of streetscape into the practical requirements of a 21st century shopping centre.
Result
Our brand strategy, visual identity and marketing application has been extremely well received by the client. The interiors help to subtly bring the street feel of the left bank in a practical way. Both are helping in the permitting and leasing process.
