Backyard Barbecue Invitation
Initial Sketches
After receiving the project, I knew immediately that I wanted to do two things: hand-lettering and get hands-on with food. I initially wanted to use barbecue sauce, but after experimenting with different letterforms, I thought spices would better suit the crisp lines of the letters I created.
The Set-up
The props of this shoot were simple, but the process of creating letters out of spices required patience and the willpower to not sneeze! It was extremely rewarding to see the finished product.

The two photos I ended up using and stitching together in photoshop. I utilized the event decorations for the background photo.
Final Product
I paired the custom letters with a hodgepodge of funky type-faces set in a contrasting cool green. The invitation was sent out as an email to our student employees to celebrate all of their hard work.
