Concept
Float was inspired by marine floats gliding across the water's surface. Its form is versatile, fit for use on for tables and hung on a wall. The glowing spherical dome provides a gentle, widespread illumination to any living room.
Viviana Degrandi
Viviana is a industrial designer whose studio specializes in kitchen and household items. She is based in Milan's Zona Tortona, a former industrial area that has become a flourishing center of design and fashion. She holds a degree in fashion design and management from Politecnico di Milano. Viviana focuses on the manufacturing process, aiming to create innovative products with higher quality, lower production cost, and improved usability.
Process
Float is manufactured by Gantri in San Francisco. The body of the product is constructed with our in-house 3D printing technologies and then carefully hand-finished by local craftsmen to achieve a smooth luxurious finish. High quality pre-engineered components are then assembled with the body and quality checked before they are delivered to customers.
