“Mise en tension”, (translated “Switch on”, playing on the word “tension” in French), is a design exhibition organised by the University of Strasbourg in 2014 focusing on furniture design. The exhibition aims to highlight the tension between two or more opposed characteristics in each object. Light and heavy, bright and dark, strong and weak.

This set of poster is about the tension between technical capacity, function, culture, philosophy, social context... contained in any artwork. This tension is the key to really understand what Design is.
