This was an experience we built a couple years back at Meta. The idea was to be immersed in your weather. Instead of looking at a phone with numbers and icons, your entire reality would simulate what you were interested in.
Will it be raining in 4 hours?
The sky goes dark, clouds come in.. rain starts falling, and the ground and buildings around you get wet.
About to board a flight to NY, and you want to know what it'll be like on arrival?
It's actually already snowing in NY, so buildings around us start getting covered in this fine white powder, we can even put our hand out and little snowflakes come to a rest on our palm.
If you want to know the actual temperature, instead of looking at a tiny screen on your smartphone that has nothing to do with the beautiful world around you, you would do the most natural thing... you look up at the sky, and over there you can probably see the temperature peeking out from the clouds up there.
