Airtel had a databaseof users by handset type and 4,00,486 mailers were sent out.
The recipients areasked to jot down few of their contacts on the envelope. On opening it, theydiscover that the data has been ‘backed-up’ (carboned).
RESULTS
The cost of eachmailer was less than 5 cents. 4.7% (18,822 subscribers) signed up for
this service in the very first month.
