8 Word Story
Client: Queensland Writers Centre / Goa Billboards
Creative Partner: Emma Ziesemer, Copywriter. PORTFOLIO
Featured in Huffington Post, B&T, the ABC, and Mumbrella.
We see the work of our visual artists everywhere.
But what about our writers?
We thought goa had an opportunity to give Brisbane writers a visual platform to share their work with the public, too.
OBJECTIVES:
- Show goa as a positive leader in media and arts communities
- Showcase the power of a well-written billboard
- Give Brisbane writers an opportunity to amplify their talents
- Boost Qld Writers’ Centre profile and brand.
IDEA:
When it comes to writing a great billboard, brevity is key. And the same can be said for a great story.
Why not bring the two together?
Let’s encourage local writers to put pen to billboard.
EXECUTION:
1. Entrants submit their story via #8wordstory.
2. Entries are judged by professional writers.
3. The winning #8wordstory entries will be displayed on the goa network.
New York Times best-selling authors, politicians, schools, and even advertising legends were submitting their own #8WordStories.
Notable #8WordStory entrants:
Jane Caro, Writer
- I refuse to stay silent, she said loudly.
Emma Griffiths, ABC Radio Presenter
- She walked in, knowing the bombs were live.
Queensland Police
- We tried but failed. No ending. Like doughnuts.
Queensland Health
- Her regular smile made the hospital a home.
