Milton Hershey School's profile

Guiding MHS Graduates Through Important Transitions

Based in Pennsylvania, Milton Hershey School (MHS) provides students from lower-income families with an elite education. Students at Milton Hershey School receive individualized support during their education and also as post-graduates entering the workforce, military or a post-secondary educational institution.

MHS supports its graduate students through the school’s GPS division. This unit consists of dedicated career counselors and transition specialists who provide focused support to each student by providing information regarding the school’s continuing education scholarship, and tools and resources to help guide them in making social, financial, emotional and academic decisions.

To prevent students from feeling alone as they transition from high school to a higher education institution or a career, MHS support specialists are paired with recent MHS graduates to provide one-on-one support and assistance in managing difficulties. MHS support specialists strive for open communication and to develop a positive relationship with students by helping them locate resources, visiting them at their post-secondary campuses, offering financial and academic advice, and linking them with career opportunities and MHS alumni from previous generations.
