The main goal for this project was to create a type specimen book that used a font created by Adrian Frutiger, a Swedish typographic designer. The font that I choose was Centennial, which was made in 1986 to celebrate Linotype’s 100th anniversary. The typeface was influenced by Century, which was designed by Linn Boyd Benton and Morris F. Benton for the American Type Founders Company. Centennial is an excellent choice for books, magazines, and newspapers. The theme I choose for this book was the Statue of Liberty because in 1986 the Statue of Liberty also celebrated a 100th birthday anniversary. Which is where I got the title for my book, Birthday Celebrations.
