A simple commission: design a header logo for a game guild website. I start on paper in a mishmash of typography, warming up the mind and hands. Then it's either scan in to build a consistent design in Illustrator, or take a few cues and grow it from the ground up.

I was short on inspiration, so the first draft is based on the Night of the Living Dead title logo, tweaked to be top-heavy and a little more friendly. More incidental snapshots below.

Invisible steps include fielding draft ideas, sleep, and meals! At the bottom, the final logo design, though the client opted for a darker red with the same white knockouts.
