This is about Palestine and what it means to us Palestinians all over the world, in the first photograph on the left is the representation of Palestine falling using this curvilinear motion. And the person in the back represents “US” the Palestinians from far away holding the ‘koofeya’ to show that even if we are miles away we see it fall and we still hold it high, the second photograph represents what each Palestinian that lives far away feels everyday with this idea of being 'held captive’ and not being able to do anything about it. The formal connection created by the line is there to emphasize that there is a connection without taking away from the fact that these show two different things, the outer vs. the inner.
