Cat Skull Hysteria

My goal with this design was to create something bright and eyepopping, saturated and exciting to catch the eye. I repurposed some older sketches for this, since I was very fond of them, but didn't have a chance to use them for anything specific; the front of the skateboard is a character of mine named Tsero, a cyborg, with an obvious skull motif. I wanted the back to kind of match that aesthetic, with skulls and mechanical aspects to meld with it.

Most of my sketches incorporated a sort of visceral aspect, from guts to skulls, but since this is a drawing I'm quite fond of, it ended up winning out. Creating the 50 sketches needed for the initial ideas was a fun challenge though, and I ended up with more ideas to work with in the future!

It's cool to see my work on something that could easily be physical, as well, and not just something on a screen. Sadly, I have no talent for skateboarding!
