Mr Baguette To Go Packaging
This was a school project where I had to re-design a well-known restaurant or fast food to go packaging design. I chose to re-design my family’s favorite bakeries packaging. Mr Baguette is a small Vietnamese bakery franchise that is themed around their French heritage. The bakery serves a wide variety of food from Vietnamese sandwiches to the strongest coffee I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. The bakery is most famous for their French baguettes. Furthermore, I came up with several new designs for each one of the most popular to go items. I designed two boxes, one of which is meant to hold a dozen of medium-sized baguettes. I chose to use a cut out in the middle of the box make the box look more enticing and to give consumers the opportunity to look at the fresh out of the oven baguettes. The second box serves more as a tray for people who may want to eat their sandwiches on in their car or in the food court. I also designed a wrap that can fit two baguettes and finally I redesigned the restaurants' coffee cup. I chose to use a French theme by using red white and blue stripes to symbolize the French flag. I also chose to use cursive fonts to give the packaging a classical French handwritten aesthetic. Additionally, I used a text pattern using French phrases and words that talk about delicious food. I also chose to use a light brown as the background color to give the packaging a warm and inviting feeling. I also re-designed the restaurant's logo, I chose to use a baker's cap so that potential consumers will immediately recognize that the restaurant specializes in bread, in addition, I chose to use a handwritten cursive font to give the logo a fun and classy look. For the small text, I chose a serif font to give the logo a sense of professionalism. Overall, I feel that the packaging represents an authentic French bakery, the packaging also accomplishes the goal to be used on the go.
