Concept:

Clarity: the quality of being clearly expressed (EWED,2012).

We want to simplifythe complex by being complex in a simple publication, ultimately breaking theclutter of mundane publication expectations.
The'Nun-drum' logo consists of two parts, an icon area and a word mark area.The icon area being a spin on the 'flower of life' and 'sacred geometry',the icon that we have thus created is conceptually driven by the nameof the magazine 'Nun-drum' who's doing what. so therefore the icon is anicon that can form an infinite amount of shapes and there is onesingular shape that it stands for , thus being a conundrum itconsists of a hexagon verged together with a circle which has beenrotated around a thirty degree angle, this in the end creates the final iconarea.

Together the word mark and icon area createthe 'Nun-drum' logo which would be used on all branded piece’s to dowith our fold-out-publication.
Creative execution:

Num-Drum is our brand.

This magazine is about the young and the old, the more obvious and the more experimental. Num-Drumfocuses on great creatives worthy of great results. By writing exclusively about creative work happening in the Mother City, we will be able to solve a very complex problem; what are creative people doing in Cape Town and where can you see/experience their work?

We will showcase the project by providing a final mock-up, two posters (front and back) and open, readable material. The final mock-up will sit on a pedestal on top of a table, with the open and readable works being place on the table, to serve as interactive elements with the two posters will be mounted on the wall behind.


The logo has been designed with a font named 'ARCHITYPE'(Arc,2012)
.This font will serve as the basis for all header and work mark areas to do with the publication.

It is a font designed around perfect angles, as well as having a very decorative and unusual bracket area within the font, it is play on a modern slab serif font to give it a more modern structured and interesting approach, much of which the publication stands for.

The second font or typeface we have chosen to use for Nun-drum’ is 'Ina Imathi' regular typeface (Ina, 2012).This is a san serif f Concept:
