The project involves design of the 14 new emergency exits for the Barcelona Metropolitan subway stations in Fontana, Lesseps, Penitents, Vall d’Hebrón and Montbau, in order to provide the optimum level of security. All necessary civil works, ventilation installations and fire protection systems are designed. The emergency exits are situated in the downtown of Barcelona and because of that the special constructive measures such as micropile and diaphragm walls where requested to stabilize the excavations.
