When the coalition government first came to power in the UK they promised to allocate much larger portions of the tv licence fee to fund local television stations, aiming to more accurately represent the interests of the whole country, not just London and the southeast.  
Local tv was set up to provide infrastructure and support to these new local television stations.
Public Life created a new brand for the service, along with a website, brand guidelines and launch materials for conferences across the country.
