"Touching from a Distance" is a long term project. It collects scenes i witnessed mostly on the streets while walking around, like a flaneur. Its documentary, but more in a sense of the „Stream of consciousness“-photography of the New York School photographers who worked in the sixties/seventies.

What you see are everyday people in everyday situations, nothing spectacular. But for me this is the interesting part of photography: To see the sensation in these scenes, to tell a little story in a single image or a bigger one if you see the whole series together. Its also about encouraging the viewer to develop his own story for a certain image.

So the project is about everyday life, but it developed also to a bigger study on form, colour and composition.

After the images i added a preview of the accompanying book and some impressions from the exhibition at Galerei Will, Darmstadt.

The project was shown in 2016 at Galerie Will, Darmstadt and in 2017 at the Kulturmetzgerei Seeheim. In this movie you will get an impression of the presentation at the gallery in Darmstadt.

After finishing the project i did this book, which is printed in an edition of 50, each one signed and numbered. It contains all 51 images, the opening speech held at Galerie Will and some impressions from the exhibition. If you are interested in a copy write me an email.
