UP NORTH

Everyone who lives in Michigan can't wait for summers to go "Up North". Like birds migrating after a long winter, Michiganders pack up their cars with tents, coolers, "toys", and anything else that will fit and hit I-75 North. The destination options are endless, but for most, it becomes an annual tradition to their favorite location. This year I decided to turn our family adventure into a photo road trip... which meant I had to limit my gear since car space was at a premium. One camera, a couple lenses, and a tripod was all that would fit. We hit 5 locations in 4 days - Sleeping Bear Dunes, Tahquamenon
Falls, Crisp Point Lighthouse, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, and Mackinaw Island. With 1000 miles and 17.5 hours on the road while setting up at 2 campgrounds and 3 hotels, I had to move quickly and take whatever time of day, lighting, and weather that was handed to me and make the most of it. I hope you enjoy this visual road trip as much as I did!

I want to send out a special thanks to my wife for all her hard work organizing and planning this trip...
it was nice to just show up and enjoy the moment like a kid again.
