The first time I photographed the Waltham Farmer’s Market, I came home with some nice photos of produce, and not much else. (Needless to say, I did not publish that first set.) The second time, I determined to include more people, and came home with some very nice head shots, but again not much else. Heads of lettuce on the first try, and heads of people on the second. 

This third time, I vowed not only to balance people and produce, but also to convey a sense of the market’s hectic activity, to capture the commercial spirit of the event. Toward that end, I tried taking some double-exposures. The first double shows a vendor loading peaches onto the display. The second through fourth were of customers deciding what to buy. The sky was lightly overcast that day, rendering all images a bit soft.
