Type Specimen—SansaPro
This type specimen comes from the print component of a print & screen based project during my second year of college. I was assigned a typeface and had to create and code a microsite using HTML and CSS as a platform to promote the new typeface to designers. The print component consisted of designing a type specimen to accompany the microsite and to allow designers to compare and contrast the different weights of the typeface. In order to sell the typeface to potential customers, I focused on what made the typeface stand out from others. I noticed that it had a few eccentricities in its glyphs and decided to market it as a 'quirky' typeface. I used quotes from famously quirky people throughout history to showcase the typeface in all it's weights in the type specimen. I chose to split the booklet with a gate fold in the centre - another quirky aspect of the specimen. The booklet benefits from a folded down poster showcasing all glyphs which acts as a dust jacket and a quirky cover too.
