We made the photographic reportage in the areas affected by the Central of Italy earthquake at the turn between the end of 2016 and beginning of 2017, few months after the earthquake.
We left to settle the experience for a couple of months, keeping alive inside the experience of the journey. We have created an installation that had an inner emotional impact of the tragedy of the earthquake.
The maps of Umbria, Marche, Lazio, Abruzzo, in particular the Sibillini Mountains Park is essential to fully understand the territory on which the faults are activated. Combining the lines on the map of the villages destroyed by the earthquake is possible to highlight the two faults activated by the pressure of the African plate against the Eurasian and the cause of recent earthquakes. The drawings on vellum paper are inspired by the structure of a tree trunk cut and represent the shock wave. They have redesigned overlaying the lines drawn on the map on vellum paper.
