Rose Colored is an acclaimed, narrative 360, Sci-Fi anthology pilot, in the vein of "Black Mirror." It was the honoree of the 2018 Lumiere Award, for Best Live-Action VR.
It it preferable the short is viewed with earphones/earbuds to appreciate it with spatial audio. If you do not have a VR device, a modern browser will work for playback. Rose Colored premiered at VRLA 2017, followed by Sotheby's "Art of VR" exhibit in NYC. It is an official "Semi-Finalist of the L.A. CineFest," the "L.A. Independent Film Festival Awards," and in other competition at "Hyper VR Festival 2017" in Brazil.
I was the original Founder of the company which produced the short, its Creative Technologist, VFX and Post Production Supervisor.
The short was made prior to significant advances in stitching software for 360 video, including the stitching being accomplished in-camera. We used our own rigs and cameras for this, as we tried to figure out the best way to do it at the time, within the short schedule and small budget we had. Regrettably, there are stitch lines, but ultimately, it's proven popular for the overall quality of the project.
