A double-sided imagery of the landscapes in Singapore and it's people. Two Tales of A City was a photography project produced to conceptualise what it means to be living in Singapore and to address the hectic lifestyle of a first world country.

[ Tale I In an area of 722.5 km², the island’s population stood at 5.61 million, humans are bound to be everywhere. Living in a hectic country, where everybody is rushing to their school or to an appointment, I wanted to shoot the areas that are known to be the busiest places in Singapore, empty.

To create a never-before seen images of those busy streets and bring about a sense of tranquility within them and to the viewers as well.

[ Tale II A conceptual photography project where I wanted to voice out my opinions on living in a hectic country.

Social Norms are unwritten rules on behaviour. They provide us with an expected idea of how to behave in a particular social group or culture. Especially in a first world country like Singapore, we unknowingly conform to societal norms. We give up our dreams because of what society say and thus going for the ‘safer’ job option, thinking that our future self will thank us because it’s sustainable.

Living in a country where competition is tough, where everyone just wants to be the best at everything and at nothing, so much so that we just start losing ourselves and what’s important.

Thank you for watching.
