在10年前，一位华裔设计师用点线面和色块的表现方式做了一系列设计《一个德国人图解中西文化巨大差异》。当时在设计界引起了不小的“轰动”。也同样影响了当时刚刚出道的我。
10 years ago, a designer of Chinese origin made a series of design named A German’s Illustration of Remarkable Difference between Chinese and Western Culture with dots, lines, plans and color lumps. At that time, the work caused quite a sensation, and also influenced me, a beginner.
作为一个从农村来到大城市的80后，伴随着国家这10年的发展和变化，切身经历了这个阶段中城市和农村种种的不同。充分体验了城市和农村的差异：从住房情况到饮食规律，从环境情况到作息习惯都存在着很大的差异。这些差异的存在，在我看来有的是社会因素造成的，有的是文化因素造成的，也有的是经济状况因素造成的。
As a post-80s coming to the big city from the countryside, I fully experienced the remarkable differences between the city and countryside with the decade-long development and changes of the country, from housing to dietary, and from environment to daily routines. The reasons, from my perspective, can be social, cultural and also economic.
从开始收集和整理这些差异时，本人都是尽量让自己的站在一个中立的角度去看待城市和农村的差异，我知道会有某些人对此产生不解和不爽。我可以向毛主席保证：我并没有偏袒任何一方。
When I started to collect and comb these differences, I tried to view urban-rural differences from an objective stance. I know someone will have some misunderstandings and dissatisfactions about this. I can promise to Chairman Mao that I’m not biased towards any side.
关于闲聊
About chat
现在科技发达，通讯也确实方便不少。同样的问题也来了：每个人不管是走路，聚餐，坐公交...只要是不在工作时就一定抱着个手机点点点。在农村，人们闲下来的时候，总是不约而同的来到村头的老槐树下闲谈。嗑瓜子的、织毛线的、端碗吃饭的、从地里回来路过歇脚的，等等。
The advanced modern technology brought much convenience to communication. Also comes a problem: everyone, no matter when walking, dining together or taking a bus, becomes addicted to their mobile phones, unless they are at work. In the countryside, when people are free, they come to the old locust tree at the entrance of village, and chat without calling. They can be cracking melon seeds, knitting wools, eating with a bowl in hand, taking a short rest on the way back from farmland, or doing anything else.

我记得我小时候家里盖房，一个村子都青壮年都来帮忙。即使是现在，只要谁家做点什么稍大点活计，总不会是主家一家在干活。总是有几个亲戚或者邻居帮着一起干。由此我想：下个月搬家是花钱找个搬家公司呢？还是自己一点点搬？
I remember that in my childhood, when we were building our house, young adults in the whole village would give a hand. Even now, great things are still done with the help of relatives or neighbors. So I started to think: should I spend some money next month to find a moving company, or move to the new house by myself?

关于睡眠
About sleep
我一直很想哪天闲下来后，回到老家好好休息个十天半个月的。每天晚上睡个饱觉。加上也确实很久没看见星星了。
I have always expected to rest for some days back in my hometown when I have time. I want a full sleep every night and, indeed, it’s been long since I last saw a star.
