City&Countryside
在10年前，一位华裔设计师用点线面和色块的表现方式做了一系列设计《一个德国人图解中西文化巨大差异》。当时在设计界引起了不小的“轰动”。也同样影响了当时刚刚出道的我。
10 years ago, a designer of Chinese origin made a series of design named A German’s Illustration of Remarkable Difference between Chinese and Western Culture with dots, lines, plans and color lumps. At that time, the work caused quite a sensation, and also influenced me, a beginner.
作为一个从农村来到大城市的80后，伴随着国家这10年的发展和变化，切身经历了这个阶段中城市和农村种种的不同。充分体验了城市和农村的差异：从住房情况到饮食规律，从环境情况到作息习惯都存在着很大的差异。这些差异的存在，在我看来有的是社会因素造成的，有的是文化因素造成的，也有的是经济状况因素造成的。
As a post-80s coming to the big city from the countryside, I fully experienced the remarkable differences between the city and countryside with the decade-long development and changes of the country, from housing to dietary, and from environment to daily routines. The reasons, from my perspective, can be social, cultural and also economic.
从开始收集和整理这些差异时，本人都是尽量让自己的站在一个中立的角度去看待城市和农村的差异，我知道会有某些人对此产生不解和不爽。我可以向毛主席保证：我并没有偏袒任何一方。
When I started to collect and comb these differences, I tried to view urban-rural differences from an objective stance. I know someone will have some misunderstandings and dissatisfactions about this. I can promise to Chairman Mao that I’m not biased towards any side.
交通路况
Traffic
在北上广交通拥堵情况就非常严重，祖国的心脏首都也就成了大家所说的“首堵”。满城都是汽车。这样的情况，同样也蔓延到了一些二三线城市。而此时的农村由于年轻人进城谋生，整个村庄也剩下不多的留守村民。
In the north, Canton traffic congestion is very serious, the heart of the motherland, the capital has become what we call "the first block."". The whole city is full of cars. This situation also spread to some two or three line cities. But at this time of the countryside, because young people go to town to make a living, the whole village still has not many left behind villagers.
住房情况
Housing
可以说这是当今社会最大的一个议题。在城市，年轻人的付出确实可以得到比在农村时更高的回报。但是面对高额的房价，用两代人的所有积蓄加上贷款，能在这个城市有个蜗居也算在这个城市站住脚了。不过，也仅仅只是“站住了脚”。相比之下的农村：有人建起了3层小楼，有人盖起了乡村别墅。把院子围得大大的，看上去就很不错的样子。但也让人产生疑问的是：房子的主人在这里一年住过几天呢？
This can be the top issue in today’s society. In cities, young people are indeed better paid than in rural areas. Facing the high housing price, if one can afford a humble abode with all family savings and housing loans, then he may have a footing in that city. Nonetheless, it is nothing more than a “footing”. In comparison, in the countryside, some built up three-floor mansions, some constructed country villas with a big courtyard, which looks pretty nice. There may also be a question: how many days can the house owner spend here every year?
关于环境
About the environment
除了住房问题，环境问题也同样使我们感到堪忧。我有个北京同事，在去年年底，因为北京的的雾霾问题把老婆孩子送回了贵州老家。他到H城市出差的时候，老婆和孩子就从贵州坐飞机到H城市和他相聚。完了老婆孩子回老家，他独自一人回到北京“享受”着霾给他带来的“乐趣”。
Besides housing, the environmental problem also makes us worried. One of my colleagues in Beijing sent his wife and children to his hometown in Guizhou at the end of last year due to the haze in Beijing. When he went to city H on business, his wife and children flied there and meet with him. Afterwards, his wife and children went back to hometown, and he returned to Beijing alone, “enjoying” the “pleasure” of haze.
