I wanted to make some material test on a complex shape and I finally ended up by making my own version of this robot.
I decided to focus mainly on the shading part and make everything without the use of external texturing plugins.
The shader of the robot is made of nine different layers (paint, rust, dirt, scratches, etc.) mixed together with an extensive use of VRayTriplanar, Dirt map and texture masks.
