The poppy grinder

I always wanted to make a nice looking still life image and several things in my life inspired this one.

First of all, we recently ate some poppy seed pasta and I had to use my great-grand parent's grinder which is in a much worse state, but I still love it. Then I came across with Grant Warwick's tutorials and tips on lighting and compositing and I tried to give it a go plus we renovated our house and we needed an image to the kitchen.

Except for the plant, everything is poly modeled from scratch, lit and rendered in Modo902, textured and composited in PS.
I really enjoyed making such a peaceful scene and I hope I can make new ones soon!
