Encouraging STD testing.

The Brief: STDs are on the rise and many are left undiagnosed (1 in 4 people with HIV are unaware that they have it), leading to serious health issues and further spread of infection. It is advised that you go for regular STD testing if you are sexually active, however the majority of people are not doing so, leading to the recent rise in STD cases. Research revealed that the main reason for people avoiding the testing was embarrassment. The aim of this project was to encourage people to talk more openly about STDs, reducing the taboo/embarrassment and encouraging people to get regular sexual health check ups, preventing the spread of STDs.

The ST!FIND Campaign: The ST!FIND campaign is all about encouraging people to get talking about STDs. It encourages people to find STDs in real world situations, to represent that we need to get together to find them by getting tested and prevent the spread. Firstly, STD characters would be spray painted on walls across capitol cities to gain interest and get people using the ST!FIND hashtag. Following this, the characters would be hidden across social media platforms. Lastly the campaign would get brands involved to increase awareness for the campaign.
The Stickers: Stickers would be used in addition to the campaign. The public would be encouraged to stick them on their friends backs to show that you could have an STD and not even know about it. These would be targeted at students, especially during freshers week, using humour to get them opening up and talking about STDs.
