Experimental Type Coffee Table Book

In this project the brief asked to design a Coffee Table Book of an Experimental Type. Through displaying understanding of the conceptual, creative and visual complexities of layout design.
Experimental typography is about finding undiscovered, inventive, nonconventional forms of typography. Reinvent the rule of typography. The Coffee Table book had the following instructions, it has to consist of a word flyer, Potchefstroom interpreted spread, type in motion, photo type, invented type system, found type compositions and a typographic pattern.
Identity, Transformation, Through my eyes and Transformification was the three given themes. I chose identity.
This publication and typeface is celebrating studentity. To be and just be. To focus on the human being you are now and celebrating the perks of being a student even though students are replaceable and just a number at the University. Forming into the person you have to be one day is the most important thing in grownups eyes.
For now, just be.

Typographic Pattern: I added this pattern in the start and the end of the publication
Conceptual word flyers: I photographed the flyers all around the NWU Potchefstroom campus with found type and its surroundings
Potchefstroom Interpreted: Here I used one students many student cards which she lost and found again on her journey as a student through the years
Found Type Compositions: These found type compositions consists of many identifications documents and other forms of campus hard copy communicators
Invented type system: Is part of the typeface family and in this publication it plays the role of esclamating information
Photo type: Students covering their identities with the Experimental typeface that spells 'Be You'
Type in motion: This is the typeface through it's forming stages in becoming who it's meant to be
