The device replaces the gold standard in breast cancer screening and provides a safe, non-invasive alternative that uses infra-red rays to detect early on-set breast cancer. The hardware interacts with a smartphone over bluetooth and the software on the phone is the sole interface.

Our main objective was to design a better way of scanning, recording, storing and retrieving patient records, but with the idea of an untrained end-consumer using it themselves unassisted. There are several clever design strategies we used to solve critical problems in performing a scan.
