Danielle Trevino's profile

Modern Technology Destroys Modern Technology (part 2)

Danielle C. Trevino’s Modern Technology Destroys Modern Technology is an inkjet print series that examines the relationship between humans and technology. Often times this relationship consists of both the adoption and the obsolescence of technology. After collecting outdated technology, she first deconstructs each phone and creates new sculptures from the original scraps. Next, she uses a modern technology – Photoshop manipulation – to destroy the sculptures she made. Both the individual phone pieces and the reassembled sculptures are viewed as abstract imagery rather than tangible objects due to the artificiality of the photo manipulation.
